How To Create A Website - A Beginners Guide By Richard Chan Harrogate

Well, I am writing this to explain how to start your own website. Now I am not going to get into detail on how to design a website - Richard Chan Harrogate. That is a topic all on its own. This is just some simple steps on how to start everything up.

Basic steps to create a Website. Here is what you need to get your website up.

Hosting(where your website is stored)

hostgator com is pretty cheap

there are others but my experience has been good with these companies.

Domain Name (yousitehere.com)

Godaddy com has a hosting package at a good price. About $9.99 per year.

Ftp program

CuteFTP is my favorite. It's free to try and $39.99 to buy(Again there are tons of these programs)

SmartFTP (free)

FileZilla (free)

After you have all these aspects. Then your ready to go. The total investment cost should be a little less than $100 dollars for the year. That is for basic hosting and a domain name - Richard Chan Harrogate.

Last, but not least you need to follow the instructions in the hosting web website (usually under the help section) to connect to your website from the ftp program, and get your domain to propagate (Domain propagation is the process of your registrar handing off the changes of your domain to root DNS servers). When a domain propagates the yoursite.com transfers from the company you bought the name from to the hosting company.

That is it. Now go off and get that website started.
